HI there,
Welcome to the Holiday Edition of New Classic Recipe. For the next two months, I will be sharing recipes and stories celebrating Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. I am still accepting stories and recipes. So, if you would like collaborate with me, please leave me a note in the comments. My first story and recipe comes from my friend, Nancy.
“This recipe comes to me from Jane and Jim Evans. They are a longtime Haddonfield couple who are talented in so many ways. They were avid antique collectors and tennis players.
We had the pleasure of several Thanksgiving dinners together and the food was terrific. They are still active seniors and enjoying their grandchildren.
My family enjoys this as a side with our dinner, as a dessert and sometimes the next morning for breakfast!”

I am right there with you Jenna. Have a great weekend.
Bernadette, this sounds delicious and although I’ve made something a bit similar – Apple Crumble – I love the addition of cranberries here! Perfect for all the celebration gatherings in the months ahead!
BTW. I’ve sent you a message regarding sharing one of my recipes and story behind it – sorry for taking so long to get back to you but I now have everything ready and happy to forward to you. Can’t wait to hear from you. Wishing you a lovely rest of the week. xx
Annika, thank you so much. I can’t wait to read your recipe and story. Please send it to newclassicrecipes@gmail.com. Hugs, B
I’ve just sent you an email! xx
I am not a fan of cranberries, but I could make it without them, or make some with and some without so both hubby and I could enjoy. Thank you for posting.
Cranberries are definitely in the either like or dislike category. It would be interesting to make it half and half and see if the pink color permeates the other side. Anyway, have a lovely weekend my friend.
I never thought of putting cranberries in apple crisp. That sounds wonderful, Bernadette. Thanks for the inspiration and the recipe. <3 Hugs.
Your welcome and have a wonderful weekend Dianna.

It is absolutely my pleasure
Your fall recipes all look so delicious, I almost feel inspired to try a few. Not the fault of t recipe that I’m a bit lazy. 😉
Somehow, the lazy part is hard to believe.
Sounds delicious 😋 I love the combination of tart and sweet 😋
Hi Bernadette – Your amazing Cranberry Apple Crisp, and the snow on my computer screen, has now put me in the mood for this season. Bring it on!
Yum! I could never, ever tire of anything with this combination of apples and cranberries! And a crisp has all the best things about a dessert without being fussy. Well done! And Jane’s suggestion of having it for breakfast? She’s my kinda gal!
You, me and Jane are three peas in the palate.
Mmm, I think I caught the aroma of cranberries and apples combined💕✨🍎🍏
oh yummmm!
This sounds yummy. I love crisps. I haven’t tried cranberry but now I’m thinking of it.
