WEEKEND COOKING

If a recipe has the word PIZZA in it, it is absolutely guaranteed that I will read it. I think pizza is an aphrodisiac. What follows are three recipes that caught my eye this week that had the word pizza in the title.

“You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I’m not hungry enough to eat six.”

Yogi Berra

Valentine’s weekend is here and what better way to show the love is to make a new rift on pizza. Here are three very different ways to show pizza love.

From Mimi at the http://chefmimiblog.com, comes this incredible recipe for tomato pie.

Torta di Pomodoro

Here is Mimi’s description of this delicious looking creation, “I discovered this recipe in a wonderful cookbook called The Best of Bugialli, by Giuliano Bugialli, published in 1994. The tomato pie, shown on the cover, quickly became a family favorite. And instead of using garden-ripe tomatoes, it’s made with a rich sauce from canned tomatoes, so it can be made year round.”

The next recipe combines the best of both worlds bundt cake and pizza. I showed it to my granddaughter and we have a date to make it this weekend. It comes to us from Angie at http://angiesrecipes.blogspot.com.

Here is Angie’s description of this marvel, “Try this easy pizza flavoured savoury bundt cake recipe that will knock your socks off! It has the perfect combination of flavours and super easy to make too.

The last recipe comes from Tieghan at http://halfbakedharvest.com. It is for one of those wonderful sheet pan recipes and combines two delectable flavors – buffalo chicken and pizza.

And here is Tieghan’s description of this yummy creation, “Sheet Pan Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Fresh pizza dough topped with ranch, extra saucy buffalo chicken, three kinds of cheese, and a house style “pizza seasoning”. The key to this pizza is baking it on a sheet pan at a high temp until the crust becomes just a little crisp and the cheese is melty. As soon as the pizza comes out of the oven, top it with more buffalo sauce, slice, eat, and ENJOY. Trust me, every last bite of this pizza is delicious and will leave you wanting more. “

Leave the steak and take the pizza, Bernadette❤️🍕
